During the school week, I am very good at sticking to a food schedule (mostly because I am forced to eat when I have my break scheduled). Anyway, during the weekend, not so much. First of all, I can sleep a lot longer than during the school week, getting 8-9 hours of sleep, instead of 5-6. I have noticed that this throws off my blood sugar levels. This morning, my reading was 92. (Remember they want it less than 90 and now I am on gly.buride) I thought for sure it would be in the normal range because when I got up to use the bathroom at 4:30, I went downstairs and took it. Ugh. How frustrating. After being up for a few hours, I ate my breakfast (the same breakfast I eat every morning-eggbeater with cheese on toast and a glass of milk-fully in my meal plan). I went back to sleep and set my alarm for 2 hours later, which is when I have to check my after meal level. It was 122 (They want it less than 120). Double Ugh.
I dont' typically get my snacks in during the weekend, so I just went back to bed, feeling defeated. I woke up 3 hours later and made myself lunch. (A very sensible, on the meal plan, lunch-salad with sunflower seeds and shredded cheese, masala burger on flat bread, cottage cheese, water). Now I have to wait 2 hours before checking again. I like being on track, so this is driving me buggy!
It doesn't help that I was at a banquet on Thursday night and the vegetarian option had zero protein. That threw off my sugar for my after dinner reading and my morning reading. Breakfast was oatmeal, fruit, and a juice bar, so I ate by myself at the restaurant in the hotel. =/ At least I got my protein and limited my carbs.
I can't wait to get back on track. Of course, then holiday break comes around and I have 2 weeks off. Perhaps I will have to set some alarms to eat.
In baby news, during one of my naps this morning, I dreamt that we were having triplets. Everyone kept introducing us and then throwing in, "and they are having triplets!" After we were alone, I questioned B, "I thought there was only one? We only have one name!" LOL
B and I also found out that I am one of 3 pregnant ladies on our block, including our next door neighbor that is due 3 days before me. We all will be delivering at the same hospital. Too funny. We may be neighbors in the birth center as well. =) Next door neighbor is due April 18th and her husband is a tax accountant, so she really wants to go full term or later (at least for his benefit!) My doctor told me to keep in my mind that they may need to deliver earlier than 40 weeks due to the gestational diabetes. We will see. My friend, Karen, from undergrad is due in April too. Lots of Spring babies!

First day
Today is my first day home alone, since B went back to work today. She was very nervous about leaving me, but I know I will be fine. I just hope she was ready to return to work. I reminded her yesterday night that she could come home at any time, but I know she would feel guilty about leaving. I know she has a lot of work to do, so hopefully it will keep her busy and her mind occupied.
I had a dream last night that I was shopping for maternity clothes with my sister. When the sales person asked when I was due, I said December, and then quickly had to change my answer to March (physically not possible..but hey, it was a dream). I was sad in the store for a second, but was ok afterward. I can see these little reminders popping up throughout the year and through subsequent pregnancies, and I know I will never forget our little Sprout or the 15 weeks s/he was with us.

12DPO Comparison
My temp was again 98.6 this morning! FF is saying that I may possibly have a tri-phasic chart. Sure looks that way to me. The HPT this morning was stark white, however. Bummer. I refuse to lose hope until the temp shifts downward or the blood arrives.
Here is my chart: (current cycle is in purple, and my average temperatures are represented by the solid blue line).
I also had a dream last night. It wasn't a pregnancy/baby dream per se, but someone asked me "Well, it's not like your pregnant...right?" (Which is nearly the same way my mother asked me if I was gay nearly 10 years ago.) I couldn't answer the dream question quick enough and the asker then new.

Ridiculous
Still going..CD18.
I had a dream last night that we did an insemination in an office with an older male doctor with white hair. He mixed some things together before giving me a test tube of orange sperm to insert myself. Weird. No syringe or anything.
6 more school days until Holiday Break!

My friend (and coworker) had a baby dream...
One of my friends from school, Melissa, (also one of the 4 women that received the email) told me she had a dream about me last night. She said she normally has very vivid dreams, but doesn't usually remember them. She also told me that her dreams usually come true. So, on with the dream:
Apparently I was very pregnant and in her classroom. My water broke, but not just a little water, more like a flood. We knew we had to get to the hospital. However, the secretary was arguing with me (and Melissa) that she had to check my emergency card to find out what hospital to take me to (side note-every year we have to fill out an emergency card and list our dr and preferred hospital...if there is ever an emergency..I just want to go to the closest one!)..so I was arguing with the secretary to just take me to the closest one. We got to the hospital and for some reason, B was in China, so Melissa stayed with me and was my labor coach. After the baby was born, I passed it off to her and gave her all of the baby things. I then proceeded to put on a bunch of make-up (not like me at all!) and get all fancied up. When we walked out of the hospital, the paparazzi was there. Melissa asked me what the deal was. I replied, "don't you know, I am _______" Her alarm went off before she heard my answer.
Isn't that a fun dream!?

A Bulleted Post
- Last night was the second night in a row that I dreamt that we had a baby and were trying for #2 (even though the babies in my dreams were not that old).
- I woke up thinking I was 10DPO..nope. 9DPO.
- My temps have remained high, so please keep those fingers crossed.
- The Olympic closing ceremony is making me cry. Why? I have no idea. I can't even distinguish if they are tears of joy or tears of sadness.
- I only wish NBC was airing the ceremony live, instead I have to watch it on CBC, which doesn't come in very clearly. Oh, the joy of no cable.
- Yesterday I was a little obsessed with taking my resting pulse. Anyone have stories about this during early pregnancy?
- For the past 4 days or so, I have been very clumsy. I don't know what my deal is, and I don't think I could blame that on hormones..lol. Today I almost fell down the stairs letting the dogs out. It is a good thing I thought to jump to the landing. Eek!

Well, we did it.
This weekend we told both my sister and my mom we are TTC. Both took it quite well (a little confusion about logistics at first), but my mom took it amazingly well. She is so very excited. She is already thinking of ideas for a shower and looking forward to babysitting. I informed her that we are not pregnant YET, and to not put the cart before the horse. She's pretty confident that it will happen very soon. Let's hope that mother knows best!
Yesterday we spent the afternoon at our friends' commitment ceremony (which my mother performed). At the reception we were seated at one of the 2 "softball" tables. What fun gals! We met a couple sets of lesbian moms and it made us realize that we need more lesbian friends. Our friend who got married is a friend from way back (she and her then gf were the ones who conspired to get B and I together) and other than her, we have one or two lesbian friends-and only one that we hang out with on a "regular" basis. It was really nice to sit and talk with people who are like you. I gave one of them my email address to exchange pictures, so hopefully we can get to know them more. Too bad B and I lack any sort of athletic skill, or we could join some sports team and have lots of lesbian friends! The couples at our table had been together 14, 18, and 22 years! Amazing!
Oh, and in my dream last night, someone asked when I was due, and I said August. the only signifigance this has, in my opinion, is our first cycle we ever tried would have had us due in August and one online friend who tried at the same time as us got pregnant, so she is due in August (I was reading her post before bed). So Dana, I'm guessing Lilian will be born on August 10th, since that was the date that came to me in my dream!

Randomness for Friday
I am so glad it is Friday. The week after being off a week is always the toughest. For the most part, the kids have been well behaved, but I have a clique of 5 that seem to give me the most trouble. Hopefully the notes home yesterday will help with today's behavior.
The weather has been a little wacky this week. We started off warm (mid 60's) and yesterday in was in the 40's for most of the day and rainy. Today it will be in the 70's. I am excited about that! Spring does wonders for everyone's emotional states. However, the changing weather also means that allergies are here. The sinus headaches this week have been less than desirable. I am also getting a sore throat. Boo.
We had the dog trainer over on Wednesday. We are feeling much more confident with our dogs and day one with our new confidence has led to well behaved and respectable dogs. Now we just need to keep it going.
Tomorrow I have another baby shower (last weekend was my dear friend's and tomorrow is a co-worker friend). There was a cute (drooly) baby in my dream last night. He was the brother of one of my students and I was just handed him to hold during a conference, and then my BBT alarm went off. I remember his beautiful blue eyes.
I guess that is all for now, I am rambling and I should hop in the shower to start my day. Not counting today, I have 3 days until my NP appointment! =)

6DPO-An Emotional Mess
Funny thing is, I am not an emotional mess over TTC, its just everything that has been building up has come to a head.
I finished packing my National Board box yesterday and it is ready to ship! Yet, I am scared to ship it off, so much work has gone into that box, it is not even funny.
My sister's shower is one week from today. I had some family drama via the phone this morning that got me all worked up. My mother is insisting that my sister has a head table, even though she already told me that she didn't want one. Whatever. GRRR.
I am working on a slide show for said shower, and I can't get the music to load just right, so that is frustrating too.
I think I just need a nice shower and to head out for my errands. Or a nap. Maybe a nap would be good.
I had a dream two nights ago that I gave birth to a beautiful tiny baby (it was gender neutral in my dream). It was early and a surprise. I couldn't reach B and I was at my parents' house (where I grew up). It was nice to hold such a small little thing in my dream. However, bf'ing wasn't working in my dream and I was stressing about the kiddo getting enough to eat.

Temp up again
So today my temp jumped .6 degrees since yesterday morning.
I started panicing..thinking we missed my surge, but B reminded me that it is still very early for me and neither the CBEFM nor my OPKs have indicated otherwise.
So deep breath.
the FM said high again today, (which, again, has meant absolutely nothing to me the past 2 months) and the OPK had a very, very faint line yesterday afternoon.
Time will tell.
God has perfect timing, right?
PS. In my dream last night, we were at some sort of LGBT function/seminar and somehow I knew it was time to inseminate and all of a sudden there was a giant bowl of sperm for us to take upstairs and use. HA! What made it funnier once I woke up, I realized that the bowl the sperm was in was one of our cereal bowls. Lovely.

Snow Day!
I love snow days!
Yesterday I had a horrible headache. I don't usually get headaches. I could probably count on my hands the number of times I have had a headache that has lasted over 5 minutes, but yesterday, it was something fierce. It started with my eyes. It's not like I had blurry vision or anything, just a weird feeling with my eyes. I figured it was too much computer time or my contacts. So I took the contacts out and went to lay down in the living room. Then the light and the sound (nothing more than usual) were really bothering me. I couldn't keep my eyes open. Then nasuea. Not fun. Of course I didnt' take anything, which aggravates B, but I truly hate taking medicine.
I decided I just needed to fall asleep. So I did. At 10pm B came upstairs and informed me that school was cancelled for tomorrow. =)
It was a wonderful gift to be able to sleep in. I still awoke at 4:10 to temp and POAS, but then went back to sleep until B had to get up at 6:30.
I spent the morning working on my National Board work, doing laundry, cleaning dog beds, and straightening the linen closet.
I feel very accomplished today, but am starting to get a little sleepy. Perhaps a nap is in order.
Oh, and in my dream last night, we had an 8 year old son named James who put our home phone number on a website about the Detroit Red Wings. I informed the caller that they are not to call to speak to James and if they have any further questions, they need to speak to myself or his other mom. We have never even talked about the name James..it's weird how things happen in dreams.

BFN
Blood.
Can anyone who has every used Vitex leave me some words of wisdom in my comments?
We bought some yesterday and I would like to know your experiences. Do you take it every day? Is there a certain vitamin regimen you are on (besides the traditional pre-nate)? Any help would be..well...helpful. The only vitamins I take are my 2 chewable flintstones. I have a hard time swallowing pills, so my doc recommended these.
Oh, and I have to write this down somewhere incase something happens on that day. In my dream, an Amish? pastor told both B and I that we would know on May 16th. Previous to telling us this, he told us to move until then. It was a weird dream. I think the symbolism has more to do with our new found church that we love than anything to do with TTC, but we shall see.

Huge temp drop this morning. Still above cover line...but -0.4
I'm feeling very AF-y.
I didn't want to get out of bed this morning after taking my temp. I fell back asleep and cried in my dream.

CD17...waiting for the big O
- Day 3 of highs from the FM. I am half expecting a positive OPK today with ovulation tomorrow, but I don't know if it is intuition, or intense yearning that is driving that feeling.
- This morning my BBT alarm went off just as someone was handing me a little 17 day old baby boy to hold in my dream. It is weird what our brains remember isn't it?17 days old? Why was that an important fact for my brain to remember?
- Today I am going to spend the day working on my National Board entries with a possible side trip to Bath and Body Works for their Semi-annual sale. Not that we can afford such luxuries after Christmas, but its for my sister's shower, so I will be the good SOB/MOH and do my duties.

Is my body trying to be "normal"?
CD15, FF has predicted my ovulation to be anywhere from CD21-CD26 in the past. Although, ovulation has not been detected on many cycles because of lazy charting over the past year.
I started using the Clearplan FM last month and had 13 days of high fertility before the peak came (a day after FF said I ovulated). Anyway, since it was my first month on the monitor and it was just beginning to learn my body, that was considered normal. "Normally" you get anywhere from 1-5 days of high fertility. Well today, on CD15, I got my first "high." I set today as the day I was going to start with the OPKs anyway, but that high was a surprise.
Now I don't know if I have 1 day before ovulation or 5. I emailed our KD this morning to see if we could get 3 tries in this time. Today, Friday, and possibly Saturday/Sunday (of course depending on ovulation). I don't want to insem too soon, but I also don't want to miss our opportunity here.
This is so surprising and it came up so quick. I thought I was going to have another week of waiting.
Perhaps this is God's way of involving KD's SO in our little plan to start a family. She is visiting for the holidays and we can't wait to have this amazing woman be an aunt in our child's life.
What is weird is I was getting ready to blog about the dream I had last night where I got a BFP but then looked at the results of my FM and had another topic! The feeling in my dream was amazing when I saw those two lines. I can't wait to feel that way in real life.
Anyway, I am excited about all of this and can't wait to tell B. (Alas, she is at work and left at 5am).
Hooray for Christmas surprises!

Dreaming
Have you ever had a dream, only to wake up and have it be true...sort of.
In my dream last night we were driving around looking for a pharmacy that had codeine.
I had such back pain that I knew all I needed was some good drugs. However, this is very unlike me in real life, because I do not take any medication that is not absolutely necessary.
Anyway, I woke up with terrible lower back pain. We're CD5 here ladies, no reason for back pain now. I popped 2 motrin and seem to be a little better. If only the nausea would go away!
If we were in the TWW I'd be thinking other thoughts, but damn my body for just hating me today.
We were hit pretty hard by the snow last night, and it continues to fall today. I am hoping and praying for a snow day tomorrow. I know that most of the streets will be clear, but since I teach in such a rural district, I am holding on to a thin thread of hope that those roads won't be cleared for our busses.

Dreams and Stuff
I have had my share of pregnancy dreams and baby dreams, even when not going through the TTC process. They are always positive and nothing too dramatic.
Last night, I had my first dream of a positive pregnancy test.
Every morning, I chart my BBT and for the past couple of mornings I have been asking FF to find "charts like mine." Today I just looked at pre-O temps and post-O temps. The first 4 charts were all pregnant. The last 6 were not. Really, it does me no good to do the search, but I enjoy looking.
Last night, I had my first dream of a positive pregnancy test.
It was the first day of school, or perhaps the first day of a new trimester, and I cannot remember what grade I was teaching. I think it was supposed to be 7th, but the kids looked small. I was definitely in an elementary classroom with an old fashioned black board, as opposed to my nice white board that I currently use. I remember the chalk dust. For some reason, they had to do some sort of POAS test for everyone. (In a location that reminded me of my parents basement). They did two tests. One in a cartridge and one flimsy strip. One came back as a possibility, and the other as a definite. I excused myself and started crying. Then my BBT alarm went off and I knocked the thermometer on the floor. =(
