I am on CD8 and day 3 of using my Clear Plan Fertility Monitor. Because this is my first cycle of using the monitor, the instructions say that I may have as many as 5 "high" fertility days before my "peak." Well today I got my first high. This was not something I was expecting so soon. I am just chalking it up to it being my first testing cycle. I wasn't even going to start using my OPKs until CD11 or later. Perhaps I have been missing my ovulation with the OPKs because I have been so focused on the fertility window that FF has been giving me. Maybe I just have an extraordinarily long luteal phase. I guess only time and more testing will tell.
In the meantime, I am hoping that the loose ends that we have can be tied up in the next week or so so we can have a practice insemination this month. I say 'practice' because I don't want to set high expectations when we are still in the learning curve here.
KD will get his test results back to me today and hopefully email me the changes to the donor agreement. Once I receive those results and changes I will forward it on to our attorneys. Hopefully they can amend the contract and we can sign before KD leaves for Boston, or immediately following his return.
I will be bummed if we aren't able to try this cycle, but I have always believed in the saying that everything happens for a reason.

Good luck! I hope you can iseminate this cycle. It's such and exciting time.
FYI - I used a fertility clinic and was monitored every other day with bloodwork to determine the precise time for insemination. It was on cd10 and cd11, on a 28-day cycle. Women are mistaken when they think they should inseminate on cd13 or 14 b/c the sperm will last 48-72 hours and you want to make sure it's there when you O.

I use the CB fertility monitor. I rarely get a high, it usually goes from low straight to peak. Everyone is different and sometimes it takes the monitor a couple cycles to recognize what your pattern is. Are you temping? Also would recommend R*obitussin (just G*uaifenesin 100mg) if you are not already taking- to thin your mucous. More Baby Dust*****
good luck this cycle! don't worry too much about the monitor, it takes a month to catch on to how your body works!
We did the CB monitor and I think it was more accurate on month 2, but was also supplemented with the regular opks as well.
Wishing you lots of luck!
About the OPK's--I kept missing my surge until I started testing three times a day, with two different tests. I've tested about eight cycles so far--sometimes my surge comes in the morning, sometimes in the afternoon and sometimes in the late evening. I also use a paper cup rather than pee directly on the stick.
Something to consider if you keep missing the surge. I also start testing around the day I first get EW--around days 8-10.
I get at LEAST 5 highs before peaks....every cycle. The high tells me nothing, so I don't get too excited about it.
I also found that the monitor plus two OPKs a day (one at mid day and one in early evening) helps me to feel more secure about not missing my surge (although my gyn lectured me about doing too many).
I also called our first cycle "practice" and now I think they are all practice...I'm not sure what we are practicing for exaclty....:)
Good Luck!!!!
