We visited a pediatrician's office yesterday and fell in love.
First of all, it is decorated in a very calm, but bright way. The waiting room has a few bean bags on the floor and some fabric covered I.kea chairs. Patients do not wait in the waiting room at all, instead, they wait in the exam room.
Let me tell you about the exam rooms....they don't have exam tables. They have leather couches. Right. They make the rooms look more like living rooms, because the children tend to be more relaxed.
The doctor who started this wellness center (who happens to have a comically Irish name), believes in trying alternative ways to wellness, while still following AMA guidelines. They always have 2 doctors in the office (unless one is sick or on vacation). One doctor is strictly for well-child check-ups, while the other is there in case of sick visits. There is also a nurse practitioner on staff.
Both doctors and the office manager are available after hours via email. We love this.
The energy of the office fits perfectly with our family and we look forward to bringing our daughter there (for well visits!)
They also gave us a free book.

Our place is quite clinical, but the staff seems great so far, so we're happy.
Congrats on finding the right pediatrician. It's on our (very long) list of things to do!
