Family Shower

The shower was amazing. Being surrounded by such love from our family and friends was wonderful. People were more than generous. We are so blessed. Once I get some pictures uploaded, I will share a few. Some hard work went into this and it truly made us feel special. Of course, I broke down and started crying in front of everyone as I was trying to thank my mom and sister. =/

After the shower, B and I came home and sorted everything. We received some duplicates of things, and some extras of things we already had (really, how many tub thermometers does one family need?) , so we made a "keep" and "return" pile. Then we went through the return pile and separated by store and if we had a gift receipt. Both Target and BabiesRUs will not return items without a gift receipt. Sooooooo...we have some things that will be kept for future gifts or donated. I can understand not taking back items that could have been purchased elsewhere, but if it has your tag (or is your store brand), why wouldn't you take it back?
Anyway, now I know to always get a gift receipt when giving a gift. =)

Last night, we were so tired, we were both asleep by 9ish. I woke up 3 times to go to the bathroom and never fell back asleep after 3. I just kept thinking of all we have to do before she arrives. I figured I'd make a list and then feel better. So here is my list, for our benefit (feel free to skip).

In no particular order:
Finish making/write out/send thank you cards
wash bedding/put on

buy a new vacuum (We bought one, but when we got it home it had already been used. We tried it anyway and it was not good. We need to take it back)
clean out cars
install car seat bases
put together bassinet
laundry...it's already never ending (Getting there, but I'm guessing this will never fully get crossed off the list)
buy cloth diapers (anyone selling any used?)(We bought 4 so far and we bought a couple packages of newborn disposables)
rearrange office
put all the gifts away
return gifts
try to figure out loss of pay for 3 weeks off (if anyone understands this, please message me. Payroll clerk told me what I make per day, but clearly, that is not what I bring home)
pay bills
buy a Boppy cover
investigate buying/renting breast pump

get pumping supplies
buy new checks with our new address (yes, we have been living here for almost a year now)
upload pictures to facebook
update blog with new bellyshot

I'm sure there is more to this list, but that is all I can think of right now. I'll be happy to see some things crossed off that list by this weekend. =) Oh, and it's the end of the trimester-so I have a ton of things to do for school as well! Eek. Deep breath.

Emotional

To say I have been emotional this past week would be an understatement. Let's take yesterday for example.
  • My first tearing up happened on the way to school when I started to think of my high school friend that lost her twins last week at 22 weeks. They were born with heartbeats, but not breathing and died right after birth. Their memorial service is tomorrow. I am so sad for her and her family. These miracle boys were conceived via IVF. She's one of us, y'all. She had something called cervical funnelling which caused her to be put on bed rest, and then she she got an infection. Not good. She lives "up-north" but they drove her via ambulance to the hospital down the street from my house (where I will deliver). I never saw her when she was in town (and haven't seen her since HS), but I feel so connected to her. I have been emailing her and I sent a package earlier this week. When we lost Sprout, the ladies from Two Hot Mamas sent us a beautiful care package that included a small Willow Tree angel. It was such an amazing and thoughtful gesture. I wanted to find the same angel they sent us, but had no luck. Instead, I found two little ones called "Two Together" and thought it was perfect. I also got her an Angel of Remembrance.
  • My second tearing-up, which became more of a cry, was when I posted a video on Fb. It was a video of a Father and Groom surprising the Bride with a version of L'Chaim. It was sweet and funny, but here I was, sitting at the computer, crying.
  • Then, I was watching TV with B and an Oprah commercial came on. For those of you that do not watch TV or perhaps live under a rock, this is Oprah's last season. I love Oprah. We were able to go see a taping of her show 5 years ago. My dream has always been to be a guest on Oprah. Now I know my time is up and I won't get to. The commercials make me sad to see her go.
  • I really wanted to watch the Stand Up To Cancer telethon that was on last night. Within the first minute, I was balling like a baby. They had all of the celebrities there who have survived cancer, and they had on these survivor shirts. Once I composed myself, they brought on the 46 moms. All of their children have cancer, so they all shaved their own heads. It was an amazing scene. Cue the water works. And then B was saying things just to make me cry because she thought I looked funny. Then I was crying and laughing at the same time, but in a weird way. I was a disaster.

So that was just one day. It's been a crazy emotional week here. Luckily, my "Pregnancy Week 8" newsletter said it's completely normal and may even begin to subside this week. Thank God.

Grateful

I am so grateful for this pregnancy.
I am grateful for having to get up in the middle of the night to pee.
I am grateful for a bathroom upstairs (we didn't have this in our old house!)
I am grateful for bbs so sore I could not sleep on my stomach last night.
I am grateful for restless nights where I saw 1, 3:00, 3:30, 4:30...
I am grateful for a great online community of friends who are so supportive.
I am grateful for my irl friends that have to work very hard to keep this all a secret and yet still stay excited for me.
I am grateful I am not back to work full time so I have the luxury of taking a nap when I need it.
I am grateful for a wonderful partner that takes care of me like no other and understands when I just need to nap. (She has taken up so much of my slack in the past couple of weeks-oh, and our lawn looks amazing, thanks to her!)
I am grateful for our dog, Gracie, who doesn't seem to want to leave my side. When I'm laying on the futon, she's with me. When I come in the office, she lays on the floor. She's my protector dog. (Jake, on the other hand, is still as annoying as h-e-double-hockey sticks)
I am grateful for a strong beta which will result in a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.
I am so grateful for this pregnancy.

A bulleted post

I will update soon-ish, but for now, bullets
  • Betsy is finally home safe (but her replacement flight home had to make an emergency landing in Pittsburgh because it hit a flock of birds). This put her home even later than expected.
  • Summer school ends tomorrow. We will have a big family picnic with pizza. As much as I enjoyed summer school this year, I am glad it will be over shortly
  • This weekend we are supposed to go away for a mini-vacation/birthday trip for B. Now I am not sure if it is happening or not.
  • Tomorrow is our Tastefully Simple party. This will also be the first time many people will see our new house.
  • Next week is Child/Teen week at church, in which I am partaking. It is a week-long training that will go toward my Certified Spiritual Educator certificate.
  • Today is 11DPO. I went to the research doctor yesterday for my CD28 check-up. He said my lining looked great (12) and it looks like I ovulated from my left side.

Delayed

B's initial flight was delayed, which meant she would miss her connecting flight. She exchanged her ticket for a direct flight tomorrow morning. She is flying out of Harrisburg, PA to Detroit. She will arrive home around 11:30am...approximately 12 hours later than her initial arrival time. Luckily, her friends that she was staying with were planning on driving to PA in the morning. Now they just have to leave a wee bit earlier to get B to the airport on time.
I'm just happy she is staying with friends tonight, instead of stuck at Dulles airport.

More Supplies

So I was hoping to never have to buy any more CBEFM sticks, but I broke down and purchased some today. I have 4 left and I will start testing in 3 days, therefore I have a week to have more delivered. Done and done.
I also purchased 40 more opks and 20 more hpts...you can never have too many, right?
I've bene really depressed lately and I hate it. I will start crying over nothing. B says I should talk to someone. I don't want to talk to anyone. I barely want to leave the house. I'm hoping it will pass. The ebb and flow of my emotions coincides with the ebb and flow of my cycles. I get super hopeful and positive during ovulation and the TWW and then it all comes crashing down with the arrival of AF.
The "mother's day" season is particularly difficult.

Its hard

I'm sad. At least for some of the day, most days. I knew this part of the year would be hard, but I didn't quite realize how hard. I'm fighting the urge to just crawl into myself and not deal with anything.
The news of several pregnancies in blog land...especially with those now expecting their SECOND babies, has been extra difficult.
I've been invited to two baby showers in the past week.
This is hard.
I am glad B and I have the next week off together to focus on getting our house packed and ready for our garage sale this weekend. I need a distraction. Do you think I can stay distracted all through the summer? eh. =/

Gobble Gobble!

I hope everyone is enjoying their day of Thanks (if you celebrate it)
Today, both B and I are home sick, so we will not be partaking in the festivities at my sister's house.
Mom is bringing leftovers later. Mmmm.
I am thankful today for wonderful family and friends, both in real life and not, chosen and given.
I am truly blessed.
I am also thankful for the wonderful 15 weeks we were able to spend with our Little Sprout.
In two weeks it would have been our EDD. With the holidays and the EDD around the corner, I'm a wee bit emotional.
I get great strength from my family and friends.
I love you guys.

Line. No line. Period. No Period.

Why does TTC make a fairly educated woman (aka me) so confused.
There was a line.
Then there wasn't.
Then there was.
Who knows.
I feel like my period is going to start.
I will test again in the morning if my temp stays high.
Today is 13DPO.
No congratulations please...let's wait this out.

Prayers

A friend of mine from undergrad, who was due a week or two after we were, lost her baby. They just had their shower on Sunday, and were 32 weeks along. Please pray for K, her partner, and their family.
Baby Ethan John will forever be loved and missed.

No Line

I'm thinking Chemical Pregnancy.
There was no line at all on either test this morning.
So I am thinking I was pregnant, but just not anymore.
I wouldn't have even known I was pregnant had I not tested so freakin' early (another good reason to wait..please remind me of this during our next TWW!)
My temp is still high.

I am so grateful to know I can get pregnant...and apparently fairly easily...with the right swimmers.

I was only going to call the doctor if it was positive, but now I am second guessing myself and thinking I should probably still call her and let her know. She most likely doesn't even have my full records she requested last week.

I apologize for getting everyone's hopes up. Our hopes were up too.

Happy First Day of School to me...

Hard day...

Today was the first day of summer school, but emotionally it was a hard one. Clearly not as bad as in the beginning, but still hard.
I am also having a hard time with the pregnancy blogs and fb status updates. I am so happy for all y'all preggo women out there, but it sure does sting every time I read a post about an ultrasound visit or setting up a nursery, or feeling the baby move, or..basically anything. It used to sting after each BFN, but this is worse. It is especially hard to read about those women who are due around the same time as I was..and yet I feel so connected to them. We went through our 1st trimesters together...
I could easily solve my problem by adjusting my reader, or filters, but I am genuinely interested in you and your families. What's a girl to do?
Perhaps I need more TTC blogs on my roll. Women that aren't in the pregnant stage yet. My blog roll used to be full of non-pregnant women, but with the grace of God, so many are already mothers or well on their way there. Any suggestions for new blogs for me to read?
Also, is it stupid for me to think that we are going to get pregnant right away? I have this feeling that it's going to happen quickly...I am pretty sure my period will show up in 5-7 days and we will be inseming 3ish weeks after...I know we went many months without getting pregnant, but on our second try with our 2nd donor, bam! =)

The Other Side of the Story

I've been pretty quiet around here for the past few days, mostly because I want to give J enough time and space to get out what she needs to in order to begin to heal.

This past week was a nightmare. Sunday night was probably one of the terrifying moments of my life. I haven't ever talked to someone who's miscarried before, so I don't know if they are normally such physically dangerous and traumatic experiences. Watching the color drain from J's face as we waiting in the ER...the triage nurse taking her bp twice, after she didn't believe how low it was the first time (it was 70/30)...then looking at me dead in the eye and firmly telling me to "go wait outside" and then RUNNING with J in a wheelchair to the trauma room...the patient advocate taking me to the private waiting room for "RESUS" patients - the ones who are being hooked up to ventilators and heart monitors and being resussitated back to life...sitting in that room alone, not knowing what was happening to my wife or our unborn child...calling J's sister and our best friends in tears...the doctor coming in and telling me there were "no fetal heart tones" on the ultrasound...consequently collapsing into a chair and sobbing...

And that wasn't even the worst of it. Watching J writhe and scream in agony while the last of the tissue and clots were removed by an OB with one of the worst bedside manners I'd ever seen. I had to put my face right in front of hers...inches away...so she could calm down enough for them to pull out whatever it was they were pulling out. It all happened so fast, and yet at the same time I felt like everything was moving in slow motion. It was like a scene from a bad horror movie.

I couldn't stop crying. I tried so hard...again...to be strong and calm but I just couldn't. I had just witnessed one of my worst nightmares unfold before my eyes. I was powerless to help J or save our baby. All I could do was cry. When we got home I tucked her in on the couch and cried some more. Then I went around the house gathering every pregnancy book and Sprout memorabilia I could find and threw them into the baby room. J was in total shock, her body was still adjusting to everything that had just happened, and just laid there still and silent. The next morning, it took about 5 minutes after she woke up before she was sobbing.

Right now I just want to make sure she is okay. I'm using 3 days of bereavement leave from work, plus two vacation days from time off I had planned to take in July. I had originally planned to go back on Monday, but I don't know. There really isn't anyone we know that lives close enough to stay with her during the day, and she cannot be alone right now. At least not for four days in a row (I work Mon-Thurs and Saturdays, with Fridays and Sundays off). Any suggestions in this department are welcome.

In the meantime I am keeping busy making sure she's eating, resting and taking her meds. It's all I can do.

Outpouring of love and support

What an amazing group of friends we have, both in real life and online in this community. You guys are truly awesome. Thank you for all of your kind words, prayers and virtual hugs.

My sister sent us an email today, and in it was this quote:

"When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better."

I know this much is true.

Today was also my first appointment. The doctor seemed just as shocked as we were. We most likely will never know the cause or reasoning behind this. I have to go for an ultrasound tomorrow and will continue to have to have weekly blood draws until my HcG goes down to less than 5. When I arrived at the hospital on Sunday it was 58,000. I really want the physical part of this miscarriage to be over so I can focus my energy on the emotional healing.

The story.

I have written this in bits and pieces over the past few days. It is long and I haven’t proof-read it, but I wanted to share it here.

I don’t think I will ever forget the past few days, and even though it is an unhappy memory I would rather let slide from my memory, I need to write down the events for my own healing.

On Wednesday, June 10th, I began having severe back pain in my lower right back. No position or medication would help. At first, we thought it was just sever gas pains. I was also very nauseous. However, when they got too bad to handle, we opted to head to the nearest hospital, St. John Main. This was about 11pm. (We live about 5minutes from this hospital, and even less when B is traveling over 55 mph down 7 Mile). When we got there, they took me almost immediately back to triage to get my vitals and told me to wait in the waiting room. I went to the bathroom and saw that I was gushing blood. I told the receptionist and she passed the word on. Not long afterward, we were escorted to an ER private room. They hooked me up to all of the monitors, put in an IV (after 2 tries) and put in a catheter (after 2 tries in the wrong hole and the nurse jamming my cervix, thinking it was my bladder, she got a new nurse who put it in correctly right away). We waited a while and then I was taken up to the ultrasound. The tech could tell me nothing during the exam. After being wheeled back down to my room, we anxiously waited the results, all while I was bleeding and passing tissue. The Dr. came in and told us the ultrasound looked good. Baby was measuring fine there was a heartbeat. He did a haphazard pelvic exam and determined that my cervix was closed. After a shot of Rho-gam, I was sent home with the diagnosis of “Threatened Miscarriage”. We returned home around 8am. B called the doctor and they got us in right away. We heard the heartbeat at the OB and they sent us home with instructions to remain on bed rest.

All day Thursday I remained on bed rest and did virtually nothing. The bleeding slowly turned into just spotting.

Friday was pretty much the same thing, until around 4pm. I began having some cramping in the front of my uterus. I assumed it was gas again, because the pains would come and go, and were not constant like the Wednesday before. By 8:30pm, we decided to start timing them. We realized that they were coming at regular intervals; 2.5 minutes apart and last for 45-55 seconds. Since we were pretty sure that gas pains did not come in regular intervals, we called the doctor again. This time we went to St. John Macomb. When we got there, we told them that we were 14.5 weeks pregnant and having contractions. After what seemed like forever as the ER receptionist typed in all of my information, they finally took me up to Labor and Delivery. Once up there, they asked for a urine sample (while giving that, the fire alarm started going off). Then they took us back to a triage area. They checked the baby’s heartbeat with a Doppler, did a pelvic exam to determine that the cervix was closed, and then sent us home. I was still in pain. The doctor said the cause of the “cramping” was possibly because my uterus didn’t like passing the blood, so it was cramping. I am mad that they didn’t hook me up to any kind of monitor to determine if I was indeed having contractions. I don’t know if this would have changed the outcome at all, but I am still angry that they just sent me home.

Saturday I took it very easy and did nothing again. I was still spotting, but nothing major.

Sunday was ok until around 7pm. I just didn’t feel right. I was hot and had a fever of 100.9. I was having some pains again, but I couldn’t quite tell where they were or if it was pregnancy related. Around 7:30pm I got up from the recliner to use the bathroom and I felt a gush of liquid. I was sure it was blood, but when I got to the bathroom it was clear. My pad was soaked through. I began to think I was leaking amniotic fluid. I sat back down to Google and was kind of reassured that many women leak fluid and the sac can reseal itself. However, the cramping came back. I got up again and felt the gush. This time it was blood. B called the after hour line as I sat in pain on the toilet. While sitting I passed massive amounts of blood and tissue. She was crying on the phone and the doctor told us to go to the nearest hospital. I was burning up. It took us literally 5 minutes to get to the hospital and we valeted the van to get to the ER department as quickly as possible. They got me in a wheelchair right away and I was in so much pain. I just wanted them to take me back. I couldn’t keep my eyes open and I felt like I was going to pass out. I am not quite sure how long we waited to be taken back, but once we got back to triage, the nurse asked a few questions and started to take my vitals. My temp was lower but so was my blood pressure. It was 70/30. She ushered B out of the room and ran me back to resuscitation “recess” (what a fun name for not a fun place). I remember telling her how the breeze felt so good on my skin, since by this time I was covered in sweat. They had a bed and an entire staff waiting for me by the time we got there. People were poking and pulling everywhere. Someone started taking my shirt off and I was able to help. I was so hot, I wanted nothing on. I didn’t care how many people were there. Someone asked me if I was normally a pale skinned person. I told her that I am not tan, but not too white. Apparently I was pretty pale and my coloring was all off. Later they told me I was grey. They laid me down on the bed and put both of my arms out like Jesus. Jeff (he said I would remember his name, since he had to poke me so much) started IV’s in both arms (right in the crook of my elbow-apparently they need the quickest place with the best vein). He poked me a few more times in various spots to get blood. I’m not quite sure what else was going on, but they did give me morphine. They did a quick ultrasound once they found the machine and saw no heartbeat. I was convinced I had miscarried the baby at home in the toilet. OB came down to tell my nurses that she had to do an emergency C-section and would be back. I kept asking for B, so they finally brought her back. She had called my sister and her husband and they were on their way.

I was still having contractions and the pain meds were not helping. I was in labor and writhing in pain. I asked to be put on a bed pan because I could feel everything coming out and I didn’t like it. I could tell when I was going to pass tissue because the pain was so intense. They gave me the maximum dose of morphine and then switched to fentynol. I had two doses of fentynol, but I was still in agony. Finally OB came down and they sent my sister and brother in law to the family waiting area. B was able to stay, thank God. They did a pelvic exam and pulled more tissue out, however, she needed to feel if my cervix was closed. I swear the woman shoved her whole arm up my vagina. I have never been in so much pain in my life. I was actually screaming and crying. Once the exam was over, I was able to feel better. I knew no pain could compare to what I had went through. Then the nurse tells me she needs to put in a catheter. Great. Given my past experience with nurses and catheters I was less than thrilled. Luckily, she got it in on the first try and with little pain at all. They cleaned me up and sent me up to the actual ultrasound place. The same woman who did my ultrasound on Wednesday did the ultrasound again. Then they wheeled me to a regular ER room. 66. Too bad there was already someone in 66, so I had to wait in the hall until he was transported upstairs to a real room. Once settled in my room (around 11:30pm) B and my sister were able to come back. My sister eventually went home, B and I waited around for some antibiotics and another Rho-gam shot, and we were sent on our way. We were home by 2:30am. The nurse did come in and tell us that they did find the baby in the tissue that I passed. They do a group cremation for all of the babies that are miscarried and there will be a memorial set up at a local cemetery. All we have to do is look for the date. There are no names, just dates. The hardest part was signing on the line that said “mother.” They also sent us home with a “bereavement folder” which we have yet to take a look through. I didn’t cry on Sunday night/early Monday morning, but I woke up in tears.
I know it will get easier as time passes, at least I hope this is true, but right now I am taking it minute by minute. I haven’t been able to talk to friends on the phone yet, but I did speak with my sister on Monday afternoon. My mom and dad called separately today and I was able to talk to them both for brief amounts of time. I am nervous about going to the doctor tomorrow. I know people mean well by giving their condolences and their sad looks, but somehow I think it hurts more. I hate retelling the story over and over. I just want to get past this. I know our lives will never be the same.

Update

Here's the short version, since I haven't gone to bed yet and my brain is foggy.

At about 10:30 last night J started having sharp lower back pain on her right side. We decided after about an hour or so of trying home remedies (warm bath, Tums in case it was gas, etc) that we needed to go to the ER. About 5 minutes after she was triaged she told me she felt like she was "gushing" and needed to go to the bathroom. When she came out she told me that she was bleeding heavily. Within minutes they had a bed ready for us and we were ushered to the back. She was given pain meds and an IV, and the ER doc ordered an ultrasound. The ultrasound showed the baby was perfectly healthy - heart beating, wiggling around, etc. The OB residents were called for a consult and they ruled "threatened miscarriage." She was given a shot of RhoGAM since she's Rh negative and our baby is Rh positive (to prevent her body from treating the baby as a foreign object to get rid of). J is on bed rest until further notice. We just got home from the hospital about 10 minutes ago.

Thanks for your prayers.

TYG

THANK YOU GOD.

Everything is fine.
We waited for about 10 minutes in the lobby before being called back. 5 minutes after we were settled in our room, the nurse came in with what looked like the little electronic thermometer you use at the doc's office. To our surprise she asked if it would be okay if we tried to hear the heartbeat with the doppler. We both excitedly said "YES PLEASE!", and she cautioned that it might still be too early to hear it. We told her we knew, but we still wanted to try.

She found it immediately, and it was so loud and fast and the most beautiful thing I have ever heard. I started crying immediately. J just sat there and sighed in relief.

We were left in the room alone afterward to wait for our OB, which took forEVER but we didn't mind because we were just so relieved to have heard our little Sprout's strong, healthy heartbeat. We laughed and joked, hugged and kissed and had a great time being silly. We both remembered reading on some website that someone said hearing the heartbeat reminded them of "galloping horses". As we were sitting there J says, "by the way that sounded nothing like galloping heartbeats." We both started CRACKING UP and pictured a heart running on it's veins for legs. We are so special.

Finally the doc came in and took some cultures. She said that she wanted to squeeze us in for an u/s to see if maybe the placenta is low (which could be one of the reasons for the spotting). We were surprised at having another one so soon but we weren't about to say no. A few minutes later we were quickly ushered into the dark room and saw our 10w5d Sprout doing the twist-n-shout. It has little arms and legs and nearly doubled in size! We did find out that the placenta does sit a little lower but that it wasn't anything to be too concerned about just yet. We will most likely get instructions at our next appointment (next Thursday, which will be 12w1d) to take it easy.

After we left we decided to go shopping and get some lunch. We called our respective places of employment to tell them everything was okay, then we hit the shops. We found some books at Garden.Ridge, then stopped at a few stores to look for maternity clothes for J. We got some great deals at JC.Pen.ney and Se.ars, stopped for lunch at Lo.gan's Road.house and called it a day.

We started the day so nervous, unsure and scared. But it is ending so beautifully and we are so blessed. TYG!!

CD4 - Mom in the hospital

I got a call yesterday during my planning hour from B.
"Are you alone in your room."
"No" (I had a co-worker waiting to speak with me)
"Well I have some bad news about your mom"
Not the type of call you want to get at work, or anytime for that matter. Apparently, my sister had called B at work sobbing to tell her that my dad was taking my mom to the ER. She had a podiatrist appointment earlier in the morning (my mom is diabetic and has 3 toes removed-not all from the same foot). He told her that she has gangrene and her toe and possibly up to her knee had to be removed. Scary.
So I conjured up a sub (who was actually subbing for our grade level parapro), threw together some lesson plans, and ran out the door to the hospital.
Surprisingly, I arrived at the hospital just a few minutes after my sister and at the same time as my brother-in-law. We met up in the parking lot. We basically spent the entire day in the ER room. I don't know if any of you have every been around gangrene, but the stench is horrible. It looks horrible. Her entire toe is black. Other parts of her foot are oozing. Very, very, gross.
My dad finally left around 3:30. The rest of us left when they took her down for an arterial doppler and x-rays, which was around 5pm. I used that time to run home, let the dogs out, eat some dinner, and get B. We were back at the hospital by 6:30 and she was still in the ER room. The nurse said she had a bed assignment, but couldn't move her to the floor without the ER doctor's orders, so they were waiting on him. The foot surgeon said it doesn't look good for the toe, but didn't say too much about having to go higher than that. The surgical team is also going to try IV antibiotics first and see if it helps the infection. B and I left aroun 7:45 for home. It was one long day.

I still haven't completely rebounded from this BFN and the stress of this isn't helping, but it is keeping my mind occupied. I have to remind myself that I am blessed and everything happens for a reason.

Crazy TTC Brain-Still in Limbo Land

So I was so excited/nervous about checking my temp this morning, I kept waking up throughout the night. At 1:52 I was up...and couldn't fall back asleep for the life of me. I decided that I would just take my temp then and perhaps that would give me piece of mind to fall asleep. With a 98.1 reading, it wasn't quite the piece of mind I needed. I tossed and turned for a couple of hours and my BBT alarm went off at 4:30. My temp then was 98.3. I was able to fall right back asleep then. On a whim, I took my temp when our real alarm went off at 6:30. 99.0
The average of all three is 98.46....which isn't too bad.
We took a test this morning and there was nothing there. I'm feeling a bit discouraged. It doesn't help that I have some slight cramping. I just wish we knew one way or another.

In tune with my body

I am very proud of the fact that I am becoming more in tune with my body. I am being more mindful of my eating and listening to my body's signals. Because of this, I knew that FF was wrong with my ovulation date. Also because of this, I knew that I would have a temp dip this morning and start this cycle sometime today.
So, since the crazy medical community starts counting pregnancy from the LMP, I am assuming I will bleed sometime today and can officially count myself pregnant starting then.
I dusted off the old CBEFM and will begin with the OPKS around CD11. My best guess is I will ovulate around CD21/CD22 and we will do 2-3 inseminations with our new donor.
I'm so excited. I just wish B was feeling better. She has all the symptoms of a peptic ulcer. Ouch. She is going to call our doctor today.
