Someone please tell me that its perfectly fine that my fertility monitor has been showing "high" fertility for the past 13 days. Its my first month on the monitor, so I might not even get a peak this month..right? Here I am at CD20. I will have donor agreement in hand tomorrow, all signed and notarized, yet no ovulation.
On my last documented ovulation on FF, I ovulated on CD21, which would be perfect...but my OPKs are still coming up negative. If I go through this entire cycle without ovulation (after last month's invisible ovulation as well) it will be time to call the Dr. (Have I mentioned how much I do not like going to the doctor..and I know I am going to have to get over this fact to even start undergoing this process, but still...)
I just hope I am acting positive during all of this and not acting in denial.

Hi there. Just came across your blog by way of...I can't remember now. Someone elses. Welcome aboard!
Seems a little odd about your ovulation. If you o'd on CD21 before, how long was your cycle? No harm in seeing your doctor if you are worried and there is certainly plenty they can do to help regulate ovulation, so I'm sure you'll be on your way soon enough.
For what it's worth, I use a Clearblue monitor too. I think I have always picked up a Peak reading, but I did become convinced that my surge starts later in the day, so the monitor was only picking it up the following morning, making for some rather ill-timed attempts (and we're using frozen, so timing is even more critical). I now do the monitor in the morning and an OPK in the afternoon about 2pm and that's helped.
Good luck - I hope that peak shows up soon.
Hey Vee-
Thanks for the welcome! What a wonderful community this is!
When I O'ed on CD21, my cycle was 34 days long. I also have an O at CD45, with a length of 57 days.
So who knows?!?
I test with the monitor first thing in the morning and do the OPK anywhere between 2-7.
I'm hoping that peak shows up soon too!
The monitor definately needs time to get to know your body, so I wouldn't trust it so much this cycle, but keep using it. I think the OPKs are more helpful and you can do several a day. My doc recommends doing only one OPK at 11am, so I'm going to try this approach this cycle...he keeps lecturing me about doing so many OPKs.
I have certainly gotten over any doctor fear...after a few cycles of IUIs and clomid checks, I'm much more relaxed with the doctor routine.
I hope that you O soon! Fingers crossed!
I agree with Vee about the late surge detection. I do the same with CB monitor in the am and opk's in the afternoon.
It does take the monitor a few cycles to detect your pattern. I think the instructions say three months. I would highly recommend waiting. As you know those spermies are expensive.
Are you temping too... so you know if you ovulated and the machine missed it?
Ali-
Yes, I am temping as well...but I realized a little too late this month that some days we had the heater blanket on, and some days we did not. I don't know how accurate my temps will be this month. =(
ooh, that happened to me, I was so mad, I woke up sweating and realized I went to bed with way too many clothes and a robe and blankets and then my temp was up a whole degree and it was the day before ovulation and argh...
sending you thoughts of the big O... the real big O when TTC :-)
I love that you had the heater blanket on. I think you need to give it a couple of months - let the monitor get to know your cycle better.
Be patient - it'll happen.
We never used the monitor, only OPK sticks, so I have no advice there. Sorry. But I can certainly wish you lots of luck!
As others stated, it takes time to get to know your cycle. It expects the typical CD 14/15 ovulation so it'll probably make you test for a while. I used that monitor briefly myself.
As for your O day, it might just be an irregular cycle. I usually O'd around CD 19 but on the cycle I got pregnant with our daughter, I O'd on CD 32!!
It's really hard when your cycles are long and all over the place while other people seem to be trying and trying and trying, you get fewer tries. It took 5 tries for us but it was 8 months of actually trying.
