HSG scheduled for a week from today. This will be my first HSG ever, so I am a bit nervous. I know everything will be alright. B is taking a day off of work to go with me, so I am very happy about that. I was even more nervous when I thought I was going to have to go by myself.
Does pro.vera or met.formin make your period much lighter than usual? I had no horrendous CD1, or a bloody mess when I awoke from sleeping. If I have to have a period, I will gladly take this one.
B also scheduled our counseling appointment for next Monday as well. Just one more hoop to jump through to use donor sperm. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do...
Another teacher at a mini-workshop I attending this evening asked me how many days of school are left in the year. I honestly do not know. I am taking each day, one at a time. Crazy would be an accurate word to describe my schedule.
My National Board test is on Saturday. I reviewed some best practices and some test taking hints, but other than that, I haven't done much. I will do alright, hopefully. On Sunday, I am going to try to be a contestant on Wheel of Fortune. Pat and Vanna are not in town, but the Wheelmobile is! I am excited!
Pretty soon its back to temping...I've enjoyed this little break!

What is the counseling session required? I've never heard of that.
My HSG was not bad at all. I did take 800mg of M.otrin prior. Is your OB or RE doing it or the radiologist?
One day at a time is all you can do. I'm wondering, how did you decide to do the hsg now? It's never been brought up with my doc and I'm not sure of how many cycles or what the reasons are necessary to initiate one. I hope yours goes really well and is one of those "only slightly uncomfortable" ones.
You'll do great on the test, but I'll send you good luck anyway!
xo
good luck with the HSG. i had one and it was NOT that bad. you may already know, but your partner won't be able to go in with you. b/c of the xrays and everything the doc and technicians wear those lead vests and they won't let anyone else in the room. (just didn't want you to be upset or surprised by that if you didn't know) but it's great that she is taking the day off and can be in the waiting room. my partner was too. in fact they required it, someone to drive me home in case i was uncomfortable. but i was immediately fine afterward. good luck!
We had to have the counseling visit too, but it was more like a meeting to make sure we understood what we were getting into. The meeting was actually fantastic, the doctor was great, and I felt like we just chatted and got really encouraged for 45 minutes.
And I had my HSG on Tuesday. First one. I was scared out of my mind. I took 4 advil exactly one hour before the appointment, and it was FINE!! I felt a tiny cringe of discomfort, but that's all. Take the advil. You'll do great. And I'm glad you don't have to go alone. I would've probably thrown up if I were alone because I was so nervous.
But if you asked me to have another HSG this afternoon, I would do it. That's how quick and painless it was. Oh and they don't tell you that it only takes 4 minutes!! FOUR!! So even if it hurts REALLY bad, it's only FOUR minutes of hurting. You'll do great!
