Todd Parr

Any of my students and most of my friends could tell you that my favorite author is Todd Parr. I love his simple illustrations and the message of his books. He has been one of my faves for years. 2 years ago, I had the opportunity to meet him when he came to B's book store for an event. It was totally surreal and awesome. B even got to go out to lunch and dinner with him. We talked and he hugged me when it was time for me to leave. (Of course it was just me and the staff left at that point).

Anyway, he is one of my friends on fb, and I got a message from him a week or so ago. "Hey, can you send me your address, I want to send you something." Uh...sure!

In the mail today, I received a hand addressed large package from Todd Parr. Inside, there was a book (special edition for Stouffer's Let's Fix Dinner)-personalized and signed, a story time CD, and a set of his new Feelings Flashcards (these will be perfect for my Sunday School preschoolers!)

You have no idea how excited I was to receive this package!

Todd was also at Blogher, so if you attended, you may have had a chance to meet him too!
