Anyone here know what is safe to use on cold sores while pregnant?
I have two tiny ones on my bottom lip that are spreading. Normally I use Abreva, but it says that no testing has been done on pregnant women.
I am going to ask my nurse friends tonight, but I thought I would throw it out here too.

Regular old Carmex? It won't heal as fast as Abreva but it's safe and works pretty well.
googled and found this:

hopefully it helps :)
I got them occasionally before the pregnancy, but now I am getting them pretty regularly. Before I transferred out of the fertility clinic I asked the NP and she asked the Pharmacy who said that Abreva is safe while pregnant because it's topical.
My Midwife also said I could take the prescription Valtrex for one day when I start to get one.
