BFN

Blood.

Can anyone who has every used Vitex leave me some words of wisdom in my comments?
We bought some yesterday and I would like to know your experiences. Do you take it every day? Is there a certain vitamin regimen you are on (besides the traditional pre-nate)? Any help would be..well...helpful. The only vitamins I take are my 2 chewable flintstones. I have a hard time swallowing pills, so my doc recommended these.

Oh, and I have to write this down somewhere incase something happens on that day. In my dream, an Amish? pastor told both B and I that we would know on May 16th. Previous to telling us this, he told us to move until then. It was a weird dream. I think the symbolism has more to do with our new found church that we love than anything to do with TTC, but we shall see.

I to have a difficult time swallowing pills; I take Nutrinate Chew Tab (generic for Natachew Tab). I noticed your in MI, me to. So, you should be able to find the chewable prenatals; I get mine at a Kroger Pharmacy.

Of course it would be an Amish pastor, LOL!

Maybe we can google Vitex and see what other things come up for dosage tips and such. Shouldn't be too tricky. Or we can always call the Doc, too.

I have trouble swallowing pills too... so on the days that the GIANT pre-natals won't go down... I take a (small) regular multi-vitamin, and an 800 mcg of FOLIC ACID on the side. The Folic Acid pills are tiny. I also got an "on the side" iron supplement that also includes vitamin-B, calcium, and Vitamin-D. I'd rather take a few small pills than one GIANT pill!
I've heard good things about Vitex...

(And I'm sorry about your BFN today... maybe next cycle will be your lucky one!)

Boo sucky.
Not taken Vitex, but have heard you should not take it between ovulation and period (i.e. the time you hope you might be pg) because it can cause miscarriage. In fact another name for it is chaste berry because people used to use it to get rid of unwanted pregnancies i think.

I take a herbal supplement put together for me by a qualified herbalist - she's a friend so it was free, but I'd recommend investing in a consultation as they'll tailor the prescription to meet your personal needs. Mine come in drop form so I just mix them with a little water - taste ok.

I also take Omega 3 tablets (one a day) for brain and nerve growth of any embryo that should ever choose to stick around. Do have to swallow those ones though.

i'm so sorry for your bfn. so so sorry hun.

i take vitex 3 times a day from cd1-ovulation. you're not supposed to take it if you could be pregnant. it takes a while to build up in your system and my cycles are still somewhat irregular, but i ovulate well each month. maybe it helps? it certainly has made my period calmer.

good luck love. oxoxox

Vitex helped regulate my cycle and definitely helped me ovulate... even gave me better cm and other ovulation signs.

Take it from CD1 to ovulation then stop.

I noticed a real change after 2-3 cycles.

Vitex is one of the best herbs for balancing hormones, regulating menstrual cycles and relieving symptoms of PMS. Vitex works on the pituitary gland, which is responsible for signaling the body to make the appropriate amounts of each hormone, therefore, it helps to bring balance at the core of the issue. It may take several weeks of use (6-12) to start to see its results.

Vitex Agnus-Castus, also commonly called Monks Pepper, acts as a stimulate for the pituitary gland to produce more progesterone and less prolactin. It does not contain hormones, but only stimulates the pituitary gland.

Many women with menstrual cycle irregularities do not produce enough progesterone during the second phase of their menstrual cycle (luteal phase). This means that estrogen, the dominant female hormone in the first phase, continues to dominate in the second phase leading to a number of menstrual cycle abnormalities. It is also frequently found that in women with these problems they have a high concentration of prolactin. High levels of prolactin in latter phases of the menstrual cycle lead to breast tenderness, and is associated with infertility.

Vitex useful in treating peri menopausal and menopausal symptoms, in particular hot flushes, and menstrual irregularities such as flooding, clotting and irregular cycle. Post menopausal women who still feel cyclic mood swings can also benefit.

It is also hugely helpful in relieving PMS symptoms, especially headaches and mood swings

Discontinue use once you determine that you are pregnant.

Suggested Use:
Take 2-4 caps 2 times daily. Best if used on a long term basis.
