Feeling good...just tired

Tomorrow marks 6 weeks. Woot! I am eagerly and anxiously awaiting our first appointment on April 29th. I can't wait to hear that little heart beat. I keep putting off things until after that appointment, like filling out the pregnancy journal that B got for me or making any kind of list in preparation for a baby.
Overall I have been feeling pretty good. I don't really feel sick at all until the evening. (In the very beginning I was feeling nauseous several times throughout the day until B pointed out it was because I wasn't eating.) Being back to school forces me on a schedule of eating, so the daytime icki-ness is gone (except for two days ago when I thought B was going to have to pull over when she was driving me to work..eek!). I am hoping it stays gone. The night time nausea isn't even that bad. I can usually breathe my way through it and eventually just fall asleep. I wake up feeling fine.
The tiredness is very apparent. Again, being back to school and in a routine has helped. I am busy during the day, so I don't have very much time to think about a nap.
Just this week I have started to pee a little more. In fact, last night was the first time I woke up in the middle of the night to pee. B says its because my uterus is expanding...I'm not so sure. I don't' read the pregnancy books like she does. I did when we first found out, but I only look at them if I have a specific question. There is just too much information.
Speaking of waking up, I have been waking up between 2-3am every night. I have no idea why. I usually can fall back asleep, but come on.
Other symptoms include: sore bbs and crankiness

Only 6 weeks? So I have another 6 weeks before I can start being excited in public? This is the longest 12 weeks EVAAAR!

In the early months it's the hormones that cause the peeing. It lets up in the second trimester. Then it really kicks in for the third trimester - that's because your uterus is expanding. Sometimes now at 35 weeks I pee every 30 minutes!

Glad that you're feeling so good, and that you're able to overcome the nausea. I experience the middle of the night waking as well, which is odd, since I'm so tired! If you find a solution, let me know! :)

Me, too. I'm 3 days behind you. Although I haven't been nauseous at all. (Except if I overeat. But I've been so hungry!) I've also been waking up to pee. I've had some trouble getting back to sleep, but I think it's anxiety. The wait for the u/s seems like forever!

I know how you feel! The weeks between BFP and 1st apt. seem to go so SLOW! Hurry up already, and hear that heartbeat! It will be the best sound ever!

enjoy

3am sounds very familiar. Every night I am awake when you are if you are in the EST. Of course now it is 2 more times besides the 3am... to pee.
I agree about the books... it's a lot of info!
Happy 6wks tomm!

Don't be surprised if at the appointment your doctor can't find the heartbeat... we saw ours in an ultrasound at 8 weeks, but never heard it on a doppler until about 13 weeks.

As for the nausea, it's a bitch... I ended up needing to take the medication for morning sickness (dicletin, not sure if it's the same thing in the US or not). It was a life saver!

Get used to waking up in the night... I think last night I got up about 6 times to pee, and every time it's a full on emergency situation!

So happy to see all of your symptoms developing! It must be nice to feel pregnant after all this time!

I wanted to second that it would actually be really unexpected for you to hear the heartbeat at your appointment via the doppler. The heart is beating, but it's just not big enough to make noise to be heard at this point.

You can see it via an ultrasound that early, but our midwives didn't do the ultrasounds routinely at the first visits so we didn't see the ultrasound until the 12 week nuchal cord translucency test.

We heard the heartbeat for the first time at 17 weeks. They'd tried at the appointment before that but it really depends a lot on anatomy when they start being able to detect the doppler. Although DW is very slender and the baby measuring way ahead of due date, the placenta was in the way for us!
